Basement & Crawlspace Water Mitigation

A drier basement, a healthier house.

Musty smells and damp walls are your house telling you something. We look at where water and moisture are coming from and install mitigation systems that help keep your basement or crawlspace drier, which also protects insulation and indoor air.

Sound familiar?

  • Musty smell in the basement
  • Water along the floor after heavy rain or spring melt
  • Peeling paint or white mineral deposits on walls
  • Damp, sagging insulation in a crawlspace
  • Stored items that mold or rust

What we do

Moisture diagnosis

We trace the source: groundwater, drainage, humidity or all three.

Water mitigation systems

Solutions chosen for your foundation and site.

Crawlspace treatment

Ground moisture control and crawlspace air sealing and insulation.

Sump pumps and drainage

Sump pump installation and replacement, with drainage matched to how water behaves on your property.

Dehumidification and air flow

Support systems that help keep humidity in check and discourage musty conditions.

How it works

1

We inspect the space and ask about when and where water appears.

2

We recommend a solution and quote one set price.

3

We install the system and clean up.

4

We follow up through a wet season so you know it's working.

Financing and moisture work

Efficiency Maine doesn't list a rebate for water mitigation, but its Home Energy Loans can cover health-and-safety costs such as moisture issues when paired with eligible energy upgrades (up to 25% of the amount financed).

Quick answers

Is my basement leaking or just humid?

Great question, and exactly what we diagnose. The fix is different for each.

Should I insulate a damp basement?

Moisture usually comes first. We'll sequence the work so insulation isn't wasted.

Do you do crawlspaces too?

Yes, from moisture control to insulation and air sealing.
